Cwrs blwyddyn sy’n arwain at statws athro cymwysedig yw’r radd TAR Uwchradd (3-11 Ystod Oedran) gyda SAC ym Met Caerdydd. This module is mainly in school, and takes place during the first half of the academic year. Trainee teachers will be expected to teach in a team and independently for approximately 45% of the time. The rest of the time provides opportunities for observation, research and inquiry, planning, preparation and assessment. This module is available through the medium of Welsh or English.
This module is mainly in school, and takes place during the second half of the academic year. Student teachers will be expected to teach mainly independently for approximately 65% of the time. The rest of the time provides further opportunities for observation, research and inquiry, planning, preparation and assessment. For the majority of teachers in training, there will be an opportunity to complete 15 days at the end of the module, where they will be able to undertake enrichment activities to nurture their strengths/areas for development, which are usually linked to innovation and leadership. The focus will be discussed with their mentors and university tutors, will be tailored to their needs, and will support them to achieve beyond the Standards for Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), as well as contributing to their Career Start Profile. This module is available through the medium of Welsh or English.
This large module will specifically consider a range of theories, research and other intellectual resources, together with the direct experience of trainee teachers in schools to develop their knowledge, skills and understanding of learning and teaching. This includes aspects such as human development; the curriculum and the education system; additional learning needs; data use and assessment; manage and organize classrooms. As well as developing knowledge of the pedagogy and curriculum of their chosen subject in this module, student teachers will explore opportunities to work creatively and collaboratively across subject boundaries. At least half of this module is available through the medium of Welsh, along with English.
