Excellent lecturers, very nice atmosphere. I would definitely recommend this Uni. I've done my MSc in politics here and I was very much disheartened that I could not find a potential supervisor to move forward to Phd in the same uni...

At postgraduate level we offer a wide range of programmes, including Masters programmes offered part time with classes between 6 pm and 9 pm in the evening, leaving you free to fill your days as you wish, programmes offered by distance learning, so you can study anywhere and at any time, in addition to programmes with the more traditional attendance patterns. If you need to work while you study, that’s no problem at Birkbeck. We can offer you a flexibility that other universities can’t –an approach that means we attract a rich and diverse student population. There’s no such thing as a ‘typical’ Birkbeck student.

The Department of Biological Sciences has been awarded an Athena SWAN silver award, in recognition of our work on equality and diversity.
