Are you the individual we are looking for? Do you have the drive and passion needed to work in the sports sector with a wide range of career opportunities? If so, the Foundation Degree (FdSc) Sports Performance Conditioning and Rehabilitation could be perfect for you. This Foundation Degree will really help you to develop an understanding of how to support a range of athletes in both individual and team settings. Not only will you develop a deeper understanding of conditioning and rehabilitation in the sports industry, you will also develop the knowledge and skills to work effectively with a diverse range of individuals across a wide array of employment opportunities. This course is suitable for those wanting to pursue a career in a sports performance focused environment, as well as those interested in supporting athletes and other individuals to improve their sport-specific components of fitness. You will study a range of subjects to prepare you for the diversity of opportunities available to you, including an in-depth introduction to the fundamentals of performance conditioning and injury rehabilitation, and an exploration of some core components of sports science such as anatomy and physiology. You will also study nutrition and how it relates to sports performance. There will be opportunities to study injury prevention and recovery, as well as working with special populations such as children or disabled athletes in strength and condition. Our staff team have a wealth of experience working within amateur and professional sports, and you will also benefit from current industry expertise through our extensive range of guest speakers and lectures. The FdSc) Sports Performance Conditioning and Rehabilitation is suitable for those wishing to progress into strength and conditioning coaching with teams and individuals, performance sport coaching, hybrid conditioning and rehabilitator roles, injury prevention, and nutritional support roles. In addition, those wishing to move into sports-based physiotherapy roles will be well positioned to progress onto a BSc (Hons) top up followed by a master’s degree in physiotherapy (pre-reg) after this Foundation Degree. Students who successfully complete the FdSc Sports Performance Conditioning and Rehabilitation could gain employment across a range of sectors including performance and professional sports, amateur sports, strength and conditioning consultancy, injury rehabilitation, and sports analytics and research. Students interested in further study could apply for the proposed NCG BSc (Hons) Sport Performance Conditioning and Rehabilitation (Top Up) - subject to validation.
