Course Overview

This course has been designed for those who wish to pursue or advance their career in Sport Health and Fitness.

During the course you will gain a wide range of sector knowledge tied to practical skills gained in research, self-study, directed study and workplace scenarios.

Assessment

Your knowledge will be tested through a combination of assessment methods, including essays and reports, presentations, tutorial exercises and group work. Some practical sessions will be included to help you develop kinaesthetic skills.

You will be required to demonstrate these skills a number of times throughout the programme either individually or collectively. You will need to be aware that the development of these skills will be beneficial in terms of achieving Merit and Distinction grades in other modules studied.

Career Development

Individuals who successfully complete the HNC may wish to progress onto a degree or secure employment in Personal Training, Lifestyle Coaching, or the Nutrition or Education industries.

GCSE English and maths at grade C (grade 5/4) or above (or equivalent) and a UCAS Tariff score of 48-64 from a full Level 3 qualification such as BTEC, A Level or an Access course in Sport.We may admit applicants who do not have a Level 3 qualification in an appropriate area but who hold alternative qualifications and/or experience demonstrating appropriate knowledge and skills at Level 3.
