About this course

- BA (Hons) Sound Design at UCLan provides a creative and practical course which centres on a range of industry areas such as, music production, sound design for film, TV, animation, games, podcasts, radio, audio installations. Theatre and VR/AR/MR. - Working in professional studio spaces you will learn the technical skills required to create, record, mix and master audio and sound design for broadcast, live shows and integration with visual media / release. The collaborative opportunity throughout the course encourages you to engage with students from other areas helping you hone your skills and gain experience across a range of disciplines. This course is highly flexible and students are encouraged and supported to develop skills to match individual interests. Module content is varied and delivered by multiple academics with specialisms across the field.

What you'll do

- Lectures, workshops and seminars will underpin the theoretical, technical and practical knowledge required to develop and succeed in the industry and enable you to become a critical thinker and problem solver. - As the degree develops, you will develop your technical skills through studio-based sessions from fundamental knowledge to advanced skills and applications strengthening employability upon graduation. - A full programme of guest lecturers throughout each semester includes sound designers for form, TV directors, Games Audio experts, Music Industry specialists, producers, artists and performers.

- Successful completion of BA (Hons) Sound Design at the University of Central Lancashire will provide the skills and knowledge required for a career in the creative industries. Employment avenues include postproduction for film and TV, radio production, podcast production sound design for games, theatre, art installations, music production. - The creative industries are currently worth over £115 Billion per year in the UK, this growth is driving the need for unique audio and sound design for many different areas.
