Applicants will need to be sponsored by an employer to undertake an apprenticeship.The apprenticeship combines practical experience in a legal firm with academic study through our law degree. You will gain hands-on legal skills in the work place, backed up by the theoretical knowledge essential to apply your skills to legal cases.Completion of the apprenticeship will gain you an LLB law degree, (for those who commence prior to the start of year 5), Postgraduate Diploma qualification and prepare you to undertake the new Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE). Successful completion of Stages 1 and 2 of the SQE allows you to formally qualify as a solicitor.It is the ideal opportunity for you to work as you learn and achieve advanced academic qualifications as you qualify to become a solicitor.

Entry requirements

In order to be eligible to undertake an Apprenticeship, you must ensure the following are in place prior to the start date of the course:

  • You are a UK resident or have the right to work in the UK.
  • Have a job or a job offer from an employer who will support you to complete your apprenticeship.
  • Will spend at least 50% of your working week in England over the duration of the apprenticeship. This also applies to remote and hybrid workers
