The best parts are the community, the halls, the public transport and connectivity to nearby towns. The worst parts are: the small town with not much to do, the weather, the lack of student culture outside of drinking. It could be improved with more capacity on the halls trips (which often fill up immediately), and more events for the entire student body

Everything I've needed since I first got here has been within easy walking distance of my student accommodation, although Bangor is in a valley so some people might not like the hills. It's such a nice setting to live in with the mountains in the background, and there's so much for students to do.

Bangor environmental degree has so much going for it including the research farm, Treborth botanical gardens, while being surrounded by sights of special scientific interest, outdoorsy students will love the area surrounded by beaches and mountains, loads of pubs.

I love my corse and it's a great university to study the natural sciences, due to budget cuts if you are doing marine biology you will need to walk 40 minutes to the site which has been really annoying for some of my friends. Other than the marine biology site everything is really close and the furthest I've had to walk for a lecture is 15 minutes. The main negative is the hills, both student accommodations are at the top of hills and going shopping can be expensive unless you're willing to walk 20 minutes with your groceries up a hill. I love my course and the foundation year really helped me know my way around and understand how things work at university. Attendance is mandatory and recorded using your precise location which is annoying if your sick as you will have to submit a request for a leave of absence but I personally have not had any problems so far with that. Staff are very accommodating to learning difficulties and all lectures are recorded which is amazing if you miss them. Some buildings have toilets that are difficult to find and not even on the floor you're on but all of the buildings have lifts so I haven't had a huge issue with that. Overall it's a nice university and a lovely community but budget cuts and older infrastructure can be a nuisance.
