With our BA (Hons) Sociology degree youll look beyond the everyday to understand contemporary society and how it shapes our lives. During this course youll develop expertise in research and analysis as you critically reflect on, discuss and talk about topical social issues from a local, national and international perspective. Youll gain a deep understanding of key sociological theorists and important issues. Our emphasis on studying these in an international context will be particularly useful if you plan to study or work overseas. Youll have the opportunity to tailor your degree to your interests. Modules include the sociology of religion, the sociology of gender, the sociology of childhood, and crime and society. Our Sociology degree equips you with a huge range of skills which are highly valued by employers. Our alumni have gone on to enjoy thriving careers in educational, criminal justice, welfare services, government, counselling, charities and the voluntary sector, community development work, probation work, social work, social research and journalism.
