Our teaching staff are registered social work practitioners and bring specific areas of knowledge and expertise to the teaching programme. Successful completion of this programme will enable you to make an application to register with Social Work England. Once registered you can choose to practice in your preferred field of children and families or adults, and across a diverse range of areas, in statutory, voluntary, private and the independent sectors.
Throughout the MA Social Work programme, youll gain the necessary skills and experience to pursue a career in social work in a range of sectors including statutory, voluntary, private and independent.
The course has been designed in partnership with agencies and service users, and youll be supported by a team of committed, experienced, registered social workers.

This course is specifically designed for people who want to qualify and practice as a professional social worker in England. Applicants should have a detailed understanding of social work practices in the UK and hold a 2.1 honours degree equivalent in a relevant subject area. Applicants must also have at least three months recent work experience in a social care setting, contributing to some understanding of social work. Selection for this course is by interview. At least 3 months work experience in a social care setting, contributing some understanding of social work. GCSE English Language and Mathematics at grade 4 (C) or above, or an equivalent qualification. If you dont have a traditional GCSE, get in touch with our admissions team who will be able to advise you. In order to study this course, offer holders will need to complete a satisfactory DBS and Health Clearance check.
