Explore the key methodological and philosophical debates that shape the social sciences – and develop the specialised tools and skills you'll need to make an impact with business and management research on this flexible master’s.
Effective business and management research is a key driver to solving and averting business problems in areas such as management strategy, operations, leadership, finance and HR.
Offered full or part-time, this master’s is ideal if you’re already working in the field and want to develop and strengthen your applied research skills.
It’s also a relevant next step if you want to conduct research in non-academic public and private sector roles, such as think tanks. Or if you want to pursue a career in academia, this programme also meets the training requirements for PhD funding from the ESRC.
Equipping you to tackle real-world problems
Taught by experienced and internationally recognised researchers, you’ll study with a strong emphasis on applying qualitative and quantitative skills to tackle the research problems of today and the future. At the same time, you’ll develop your critical thinking skills, making you more effective in your career.
Delve into subjects such as the philosophy of social science, qualitative and quantitative research methods, and research design and practice. You can also choose optional modules in advanced research methods and complete a dissertation.
Studying alongside academics conducting world-leading research, you’ll graduate with the skills needed to succeed as a high-level business and management researcher in industry, government or academia.
A large range of subject areas will be considered.
