The study programme provides a wide-ranging study of health and social care and related sectors, through a flexible learning environment of guided learning hours, self-study and workplace experience.This HND in Social and Community work is an exciting opportunity for you to extend your knowledge in the subject and gain a qualification. It is great for those that are continuing their studies or those in the workplace, wishing to increase their knowledge and skills. The study programme provides a wide-ranging study of health and social care and related sectors, through a flexible learning environment of guided learning hours, self-study and workplace experience.You will explore a wide range of academic assessments, from assignments to case studies and presentations, as well as workplace assessments. These will be provided by lecturers and supported by placement supervisors. Assessment is always done by professional lecturers who teach on the programme.On successful completion, you will be able to demonstrate a sound knowledge of the basic concepts, values and principles of social and community work, and the skills to perform effectively in several different settings in the health and social care sector. You will be able to communicate accurately and appropriately, and you will have the behaviours and qualities needed for employment that require some degree of personal responsibility.You will have developed a range of transferable skills to ensure effective teamwork, independent initiatives, organisational competence and problem-solving strategies. You will be adaptable and flexible in your approach to social and community work, have built social resilience when under pressure and be able to meet challenging targets within a given resource.The awarding body for this course is Pearson.
