If you dream of teaching the next generation of physicists, this accelerated course is the perfect route. Our fast-track programme provides you with a specialist foundation degree in just two years, as well as covering key educational topics such as curriculum, learning, teaching and what inspires young people to grow and flourish. With a focus on Physics as a subject specialism, you’ll work with academics in our Faculty of Science and Engineering to develop your understanding of physics concepts, with time spent on placement to further your hands-on experience. With an understanding of young people’s development and the research, policy and practice that surrounds it, you’ll graduate with the skills to take up an immediate role in education, or progress onto a PGCE to complete your qualification as a teacher.

* An accredited pathway: Our accelerated two-year programme lets you gain a first degree whilst helping prepare you for a career in the classroom. * Get out of the classroom: You’ll be exposed different educational environments and perspectives and can even become a certified Forest School practitioner. * Industry-wide networking: Leverage our membership of the Early Childhood Degree Network, which includes over 600 UK based organisations, to attend industry events and access profile-raising activities.

With demand for science experts always strong, you could head straight into work as an unqualified teacher. Or take your next step to Qualified Teacher Status with a PGCE. Previous graduates of our accelerated teaching studies degrees have also carved out careers in a range of other sectors, often in education-linked roles. Think the arts, heritage and local government. Or you could continue your studies by choosing a postgraduate qualification in a range of subjects.
