If you have a passion for teaching physical education, you could choose to study one of our EBacc pathways. This could help you enhance your employability as you’ll be able to teach physical education and a second subject specialism of your choice.
Teaching & Learning
Independent study is a crucial part of learning at university and you will be required to undertake many hours of self-directed research and reading, and preparation and writing of assessments. Your course is delivered through a number of modules, which will help you to plan your time and establish a study routine. Outside of your lectures, workshops and tutorials, a range of support is available to assist with your independent study.
Applicants should have at least a lower second-class honours degree relevant to secondary education in or related to the subject area the candidate is applying for. Applicants should also have at least grade C in A Level Geography or an equivalent qualification. GCSE English Language and Maths at Grade 4 (Grade C for those sitting their GCSE before 2017) or above, or an equivalent award including some equivalency tests, are required prior to the course start (Evidence should usually be provided by 1 September). Functional Skills and the Certificate in Adult Numeracy/Literacy are not accepted in place of GCSEs.
