Course overview In this course you join an impactful Modern Languages department and undertake your own research project in Russian studies. Enjoy a full programme of research training and enhance your research with access to resources held by our Centre for Russian, European and Eurasian Studies. Course highlights The Department of Modern Languages is an interdisciplinary hub of research. We welcome research proposals that go beyond subject boundaries. You can be jointly supervised by an academic specialising in Russian studies and another from a different discipline, depending on your research interests. We have particular strengths in joint supervisions with departments in the College of Social Sciences and School of Geography, Earth and Environmental Sciences.
Youll need to hold a Masters qualification at Merit level or above (or its international equivalent), usually in a relevant area. Your academic and professional qualifications or relevant professional experience will normally be taken into account and, in some cases, may form an integral part of the entrance requirements. If youre applying for a distance learning research programme, youll also need to show that you have the time, commitment, facilities, and experience to successfully study by distance learning. Youll usually be required to submit a research proposal, which should typically be 1,000–1,500 words for Arts programmes and around 2,500 words for Law programmes.
