To include at least one essay based A level in a humanities or social sciences subject. Excluded subject - General Studies.Applicants will also be expected to have a GCSE in a language or have experience of learning a language other than your mother tongue.
We consider applications from students with the Access to Higher Education Diploma. The minimum academic requirement is to achieve 60 credits overall, with 45 credits at Level 3, of which 15 credits must be at Distinction and 15 credits at Merit or higher. For programmes with French, grade B or above in A-Level French will be also be required. For all other single and joint honours language programmes, experience of learning a language other than your mother tongue, and a demonstrable aptitude for language study are required. Applications are considered on a case by case basis, and we may request an interview. Due to the high volume of applications, we do not make offers of study purely on the basis of meeting grade requirements.
We consider applications from students offering an EPQ and may make an alternative offer to include three A levels, one grade lower than our usual requirement, along with a specific grade in the EPQ.

Queen Mary University of London welcomes applications from students currently studying Level 3 BTEC qualifications and will consider you for entry to the majority of our undergraduate courses. Queen Mary University of London (QMUL) has five campuses stretching across east and central London, and offers full-time undergraduate programmes as well as a range of postgraduate options. Our history dates back to 1785, with the founding of England’s first medical school at the Royal London Hospital. Our roots can also be traced to the establishment of the People’s Palace in Mile End in 1887, which was designed to bring educational and cultural opportunities to the East End.
Three of their campuses are used for undergraduate study; their flagship campus in Mile End, where the majority of the Queen Mary academic schools are housed, and the Whitechapel campus for medicine and dentistry students. Medical students also practise their clinical skills at the West Smithfield campus (St. Bartholomew's Hospital). This East End University is home to 18,081 undergraduate students.
