Course info
This course will broaden the students view of the management of the UKs rural resource. It will include analysis of the legislation, issues, policy and planning that drive rural change plus an examination of landscape scale ecology and sustainable land use. It will provide an opportunity to investigate a topic of choice through a research dissertation.

Founded in 1894 as a cheese-making school, Myerscough College and University Centre has grown to become one of the UK’s largest providers of specialist education and training for land-based and sports industries. It offers undergraduate courses in over 20 different subject areas, including Agriculture, Animal Studies, Equine Studies, Horticulture, Motorsports, and Sports Studies. Around 6000 students are enrolled at the college, around 2000 of which are part-time students, and around 1000 of which study for Higher Education qualifications. The college is an Associate School of the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan), one of the largest and most dynamic universities in the UK, and Myerscough students can benefit from having access to UCLan’s wide range of student facilities and support.
