Robotics and robot systems have been, and remain, at the forefront of technological and industrial development. The development of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning techniques has enabled robots and robotic systems to evolve further and improve their operational performance and awareness. Both themes are at the core of this new programme. The James Watt School of Engineering has created a well-equipped Robotics Teaching Laboratory where most of the robotics project and practical teaching will take place. The combination of research-led teaching and well-equipped laboratory facilities will provide you with a valuable learning experience that will strengthen your knowledge development and help in your future career. The robotics industry is wide and rapidly growing due to the large number of robotic systems and application areas. This has created a need for engineers with the required skills related to robot and robotic system design and development. In addition, graduates with knowledge of artificial intelligence and machine learning are become more sought after as more industries seek to introduce these techniques into their product lines, design and manufacturing processes.
