Our Religion, Philosophy and Ethics programmes aims to foster in students a critical awareness of the roles of religions in both the historical and contemporary world. Acquainting you with the key developments in the history of philosophy and key philosophical arguments and theories. Teaching you to think clearly; to argue in a structured and methodical way; to present a position forcefully and concisely, and to recognise and accommodate a variety of counter-arguments. Whilst developing key transferable skills that will assist you in your career options.
This programme draws upon modules offered in the BA Philosophy programme. In addition to this, the degree also offers the opportunity to become familiar with the specifics of religious traditions and to make comparisons between the beliefs and practices of different religions, particularly in the context of a world coming to terms with its cultural and religious diversity. The programme will explore the role of religion in the world and study the origins and development of religious traditions.
