This innovative programme studies the influence of religions and cultures on people and the planet and uses religious studies theories and methods to better understand and respond to the major challenges of our times. The programme will benefit professionals and practitioners from governmental, charitable, public and policy arenas, and provide an academic stepping-stone to MPhil and doctoral research. This MSc promotes religious literacy in international affairs. You will examine the response of religious institutions and actors to global challenges. The programme is oriented towards societal impact. It employs problem-solving approaches to the study of religion. You will be taught by international experts who cover a wide range of disciplinary specialisations. The programme has a modular and flexible programme structure.The MSc in Religion & Global Challenges equips students with transdisciplinary expertise, graduate attributes and transferable skills that are utilisable in a variety of careers in the governmental and NGO sectors, in policy and practice (e.g. international relations, diplomacy, global security, public health, international development, humanitarian and environmental organisations, faith-based organisations, equality and human rights advocacy, policy think-tanks, capacity-building networks, community organising etc.).
