This course combines real estate surveying with valuation, planning and development. It studies how commercial and residential property markets work and draws upon the economics of the real estate sector to gain knowledge of how they develop and the determinants of value. It also examines how urban planning regulates the development of property and value of real estate as investments.During your studies you’ll learn about all aspects of property valuation, investment, development, property law and property management and this shall help develop a range of technical, communicative and interpersonal skills invaluable to your future career as a Chartered Surveyor.A career as a surveyor may suit you if you are interested in property and people, and want a professional role with plenty of variety and prospectsThe Honours degree in Real Estate Surveying is fully accredited by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and is accredited under the Commercial, Residential and Valuation pathways. Graduate prospects are good and recent graduates have gone on to work for the likes of: JLL, Shepherd Surveyors, Ryden, Savills, Avison Young (GVA), DM Hall, Cushman and Wakefield, Montagu Evans, Valuation Office Agency, Lothian Valuation Joint Board, and Taylor Wimpey Homes.
