Courseoverview

CertHE Radio, Audio & Podcasting course covers a wide range of skills and knowledge required for working in the radio and audio industry. Students will learn radio production/broadcasting skills, interview techniques, presenting skills, podcast creation, radio and audio branding and how the radio and audio industry works.

The curriculum has been designed to reflect industry, with an emphasis on practical skills using the latest software/technology and industry practices. Our lecturers have extensive industry experience and expertise in facilitating learning at HE level and getting students into jobs in radio. In addition to industry-based techniques, valuable graduate skills, sought-after by employers, are embedded into the programme including presentation/communication skills, and how to effectively research, develop, plan, and present creative ideas. Radio courses at pointblank have kick-started the career of hundreds of radio professionals who have worked for some of the biggest stations in the UK including BBC Radio 1, BBC 1Xtra, and Rinse FM.

This course enables students to develop a portfolio of tangible work that can be used to secure employment in this dynamic and expanding industry.

Learning is supported by a range of high quality and insightful course materials, made available via our bespoke VLE. Students can engage in regular personalised sessions with their lecturers to receive valuable feedback on their progress and class sizes are small, ensuring you get the chance to ask questions in a productive learning environment. Students collaborate with their peers and develop lasting networks that can be taken forward into their careers.
