Course Overview: Our Foundation Degree, validated by Stranmillis University College and Queens University Belfast, strikes a perfect balance between classroom learning and practical experience. You'll spend three days per week immersed in stimulating classes and two days per week gaining hands-on experience in a work placement with children aged 0-8 years.

Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma (first teaching from September 2016):

You must have four GCSEs Grades A-C, including English and Maths or equivalent approved qualifications

You must have Either BTEC National Certificate or Diploma in Early Years, CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and Education, CACHE Level 3 Extended Diploma in CCLD, an appropriate NVQ Level 3 qualification or two A Levels or equivalent qualifications. The offer of a place on this course will be conditional upon satisfactory completion of an Access NI Criminal Records check and if appropriate a Social Services check. This programme of study is likely to include enrichment units which are an additional component to enhance your employability.
