The BA Psychosocial Studies with Principles of Psychodynamic Counselling combines the field of psychosocial studies with an exploration of the principles that underpin psychodynamic counselling.By taking this course, you will look at how individual identity, including unconscious structures and dynamics, are developed in conjunction with, and do not exist apart from, the social categories and processes that shape our experience of who we are.The BA Psychosocial Studies with Principles of Psychodynamic Counselling will enable you to develop your self-awareness and emotional sensibility. You will also acquire a diverse academic knowledge base which could help you develop your personal interest or professional aspirations in any number of areas within the caring professions.This course is for those who are interested in a future career in psychodynamic counselling or psychotherapy, or those who wish to apply the principles and methods of psychodynamic counselling to their work or their lives.If you opt for the Foundation Year route, this will fully prepare you for undergraduate study. It is ideal if you are returning to study after a gap, or if you have not previously studied the relevant subjects, or if you didn't achieve the grades you need for a place on your chosen undergraduate degree.
