Accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS), our BSc Psychology degree (with integrated year studying abroad) at Aberystwyth University will allow you to gain a scientific understanding of the processes from which learn, think, feel, and adapt to our social conditions. This four-year degree includes a year studying abroad at one of our partner universities. In addition, our BSc Psychology degree investigates human behaviour from infancy to old age and deals with the biological, social, and individual factors that affect human psychology. On this course, you will work and engage with lecturers who use their research to create an inspiring learning environment in which you can develop your own thinking in a safe and supportive department. Our ethos is to teach in a way which enables you to develop conceptual and theoretical knowledge to solve problems in real-world scenarios. During the four-year course, you will explore and learn about human development and the intricacies of what makes us humans tick and how we navigate the complex internal and external environment as well as the mechanics and effects of what happens when these systems stop working well. The year abroad takes place during the third year where students study at one of our partnered universities. The Department of Psychology has established academic study partnerships in Australia, Canada, Hong Kong, Europe, Malaysia and the USA.
