The University of the West of Scotland (UWS) is one of Scotland’s largest modern universities. It has four campuses located in the west of Scotland in Paisley, Lanarkshire, Dumfries and Ayr, with its fifth in London’s Docklands. In 2020-2021 the university had over 22,000 students in total, representing a diverse student body made up of over 130 different nationalities. The university offers a wide range of highly rated courses, developed with industry, that focus on real-world skills including computing, engineering, life sciences, physical sciences, business, creative industries, education and social sciences. It’s also Scotland’s largest provider of nursing and midwifery education and has a strong reputation for its health-related programmes.
