Throughout the vocational course, you will learn the ethical rules, practical knowledge and professional skills required of solicitors in Scotland. If you intend to become a solicitor after completion of an LLB Degree from a Scottish university, or the professional examinations of The Law Society of Scotland, you are required to undertake the Diploma in Professional Legal Practice. Throughout the course, you will be taught by practising solicitors in most modules, take part in client interviews, role plays and undertake skills related activities and assessment, to ensure you are ready for the working environment upon graduation from Robert Gordon University.

To gain admission to the DPLP course entrants require to have passed the core subjects in their LLB degree from a Scottish University or alternatively have undertaken a pre diploma training contract and complete the Law Society of Scotlands professional qualifying examinations. Those wishing to apply for a place on the Diploma in Professional Legal Practice: Will graduate LLB from Robert Gordon University this year, or earlier; OR Are engaged on a pre-Diploma Training Contract Will graduate LLB from another Scottish University this year or earlier
