This course is primarily designed for candidates who have not studied the prerequisite subjects required for first-year entry, have not met the expected entrance requirements due to adverse circumstances or sporting commitments, or are mature students returning to education or care leavers.Loughborough University’s Foundation Studies programme is designed to support a wide range of students in achieving their university ambitions. Its streamed structure allows progression to multiple degree programmes within a chosen stream, giving students additional time to determine the most suitable course for their academic and career goals.The foundation programme is particularly appropriate for:Students who have not studied the prerequisite subjects required for first-year entry into their chosen course;Students who have not met entrance requirements due to extenuating circumstances, including illness or caring responsibilities;Mature students or care leavers;Students competing at an elite athletic level who are balancing academic studies with high-level sporting commitments.Students on this course are full members of the University and benefit from access to the Students’ Union, clubs, societies, sports facilities, and a full range of support services, experiencing the exceptional student life that Loughborough University is known for.
