The programme embraces a facilitative approach to learning, coordinated to support the practice element at the centre of the programme.The curriculum in this programme has been developed to ensure that practitioners are prepared to respond to the demands of an advanced level of practice in the contemporary context of primary health care. All modules are mandatory and are mapped against the Standards for Specialist Education and Practice (District Nursing) (endorsed by the Nursing and Midwifery Council) and also mapped against the education and practice standards developed for District Nursing by the Queens Nursing Institute (2015
