It will provide the theoretical and evidence based underpinning to contemporary CASH practice and helps you to develop new approaches to client care. The practice competencies are based on a nationally recognised framework for practice which identifies a high standard and quality of care in this area.

It is suitable for professionals from a variety of settings including midwifery, CASH and GUM (genito-urinary medicine) services, school nursing, practice nursing, gynaecology and youth services.

Potential Career Paths

As a result of undertaking this course you will have advanced knowledge and skills desirable to fulfill an essential role in contraception / sexual health services. This course equips you to work in any relevant service ; previous students have been employed in a range of settings including midwifery, CASH and GUM (genito-urinary medicine) services, school nursing, practice nursing, gynaecology and youth services.

On completion of this course you may be eligible to undertake further training in advanced practice such as insertion and removal of the intrauterine devices and Implanon device.
