Best: Very helpful and plentiful amount of support and resources for employment skills etc. Lots of career related events, different companies often invited to give out advice on work, CVs, applications etc and freebies Worst: in the student accommodation, lights may go out from time to time, heating and water would go cold frequently. Stag Hill accommodation facilities are very old and small. Plumbing is also quite aged.

Student union - may need a more direct channel for help. Filling forms does not always result in appropriate response times (I.e. not fast enough) Everything else is great!

The University of Surrey is a great place to study because it is a safe and supportive environment full of very great people. By great I mean helpful, friendly and fun. which is something I was quite worried about before coming, The lectures are also really good. From what I've witnessed, the lecturers do a great job in making sure lectures are as engaging and as fully informative as can be . The evidence being, for example by cracking jokes, encouraging student engagement by asking sometimes specific questions making clear there is no pressure when answering making me more likely to volunteer and put forward an answer and occasionally using visualiser/pointers instead off of just reading of slides which almost always betters my understanding of what is taught. They also answer any question I ask during the lectures really well but one of the things I am most impressed that the lecturers do is that they have all proven time and time again they are willing to offer any additional support even outside of class with their one on one consultation hours, which I have used very often in the past, that also helps me feel more confident in the material. Moreover, there are so many well-organised and available resources such as past exam papers and lecture recordings for me to use for my revision on Surreylearn so I can practice and become more confident in the material very efficiently on my own. Not to mention I really like the tutorials/lab sessions which are also engaging and give us more time to practice and develop skills that we'll definitely need for our degree and beyond. On top of that, I would say the way they assess material with a mix of online exams and in person is a very good flexible way of learning that personally reduces pressure and sometimes dullness of having just all in person exams while still allowing me to maintain a good work ethic. I also really like the Student Accommodation for my first year, it is a healthy walk away from my lectures. there is a convenient Tesco right next to me and the campuses are so clean so it makes staying there quite enjoyable. Not to mention anytime I have a problem for example repairs, the response time of the maintenance team is very good at solving them without causing any disturbance to my day. It is very nice that there is a great sports spark facility right next to me where I know anytime I want to, I can pick up a sport and play with others but the only thing hat discourages me for now is the price of joining a club so it would be nice if that could be lowered as I am trying to save my money for other things. There isn't only sport available at Surrey, I have participated in many free extracurriculars they have in Surrey such as entrepreneurial workshops and conferences where everyone is invited because that's what I like to do but I know there is something for everyone as my friends often share which different societies they like to go to in their free-time with me so yes Surrey for the moment is a great place to study and I would highly recommend it to others.

The university is very student focused and has lots of good study spaces and facilities Lecturers are usually friendly and helpful but often just read off of PowerPoint slides rather than teaching which can be trusting Lecture content is usually good and online facilities such as online recordings and content as well as free access to online library is really good for studying at the uni

I would say Surrey is really good overall but they do leave you in the lurch a bit after the first few weeks. Those early days are really well put together but you can be left adrift a little bit after a while.
