I love the accommodation and short walks and transfer buses between campus. There is easy transportation to surrounding towns and a short train journey into London. Good place if you’re down for a night out but also not over the top if you’re not too much of a party animal. 20 minute walk to Aldi/ Asda and a very decent priced Tesco express less than 5 minutes from accommodation which is soo helpful for a few bits or even a full shop. Nightlife isn’t massive but there is a lot to do and a lot of student support. The lectures here love what they do and the atmosphere is very professional. Lovely library open 24/7 with places for silent study, group study rooms and a downstairs cafe. Security could improve with being a bit more understanding but overall a good uni. Heavily popular with Film, TV, Animation and Healthcare (I.e paramedics, occupational health and physiotherapy) professional students for their facilities.

The support and encouragement from the staff is amazing. Their knowledge is awe inspiring. I don't find looking for things on Studynet is easy or intuitive

Best aspects: The Students’ Union is great :) they host events regularly (bunch of free stuff around half of the time) and they work closely with the university. The College Lane campus is lovely, especially the accommodation. The support from tutors and lecturers, particularly in physiotherapy, is excellent. The Wright Building, where most healthcare courses like physiotherapy, paramedic science, and nursing are based, has a friendly and collaborative atmosphere. Worst aspects: The Wright Building itself is a bit run-down compared to the newer SPECTRA building for engineering, physics, and computer science, which is modern and well-equipped. Hatfield as a town can feel quite dull and, lately, a bit less appealing aesthetically, but living on campus gives it a much better vibe overall. I am a student ambassador, I was a school community organiser last year and this year I’m the officer for my school. Is nice how the university has all these roles and opportunities if you like to get involved like me and improve student experience :)!

I feel like I belong here and I think that’s quite important in terms of choosing something. My course is 4th in whole England so it is very challenging but also awesome just like my lectures. My lectures they inspire me. Couple of things to improve such as buses (even tho is no that uni related) affects many people that are commuting. There are never buses they are always late and so on so on. More freebies instead of putting more “vending” machines
