Help develop cutting-edge physics techniques to advance medical research with BSc Physics with Medical Physics. Study core physics topics and medical applications, open up a world of career opportunities. From entropy and quantum mechanics to biophysics and imaging, you’ll have a good grounding in physics while expanding your studies to medical applications. Build problem-solving, programming, mathematical and teamwork skills. You’ll explore the laws of the universe and specialised techniques for diagnosis and treatment. Take part in projects pushing the boundaries of medical physics. You’ll benefit from using state-of-the-art study spaces, computing suites and laboratories. Our research spaces include our MC40 cyclotron that produces medical isotopes for the NHS and the High Flux Accelerator-Driven Neutron Facility that provides a unique capability for neutron radiobiology studies. You’ll graduate ready for an exciting future in a scientific environment or using transferable skills in different roles. Work alongside renowned academics who are pushing the frontiers of scientific knowledge. Our researchers will teach your lectures, lead your labs, act as your personal tutors and supervise your projects. Modules are assessed in a variety of ways: exams, class tests, problem sheets, lab assignments and project reports. There is a strong emphasis on project work in the final year of your degree course. Lab work is assessed continuously throughout the term.
