This forward-thinking part-time MA programme empowers students to shape the future of Physical Education (PE) and physical literacy. With a focus on improving physical activity and enhancing health and wellbeing across all age groups, it equips learners to foster physical competence, motivation, and community impact. Supported by the Wales Institute for Physical Literacy, it integrates research-informed teaching, critical reflective practice, and hands-on learning. Its flexible, multidisciplinary structure ensure you tailor your experience to achieve real-world change in education, sport, and health contexts. Through the programme, students delve into how evidence-based practice drives better outcomes for individuals and communities. From schools to lifelong learning settings, you’ll learn to lead initiatives that promote physical literacy while critically evaluating curriculum development and its impact on pupil outcomes.
You need 2:2 honours degree or UWTSD recognised equivalent. Alternative entry routes - Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education (PGCert). This is the first part of the full Masters degree. Once you have successfully completed your PGCert studies, you will be eligible to progress for the remainder of the Masters degree. These are ideal routes if you are returning to study after a gap, or if you have not previously studied this subject, or if you did not achieve the grades you need for a place on this degree.
