We offer research opportunities in a range of veterinary and allied subject areas. These include veterinary infectious diseases, veterinary pathology, veterinary clinical sciences and epidemiology and one health. The opportunities are open to all appropriately qualified candidates and are not restricted to veterinarians.
The Institute of Infection, Veterinary, and Ecological Sciences (IVES) brings together leading medical, veterinary and basic science researchers from across the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences.
Our School of Veterinary Sciences offers world-leading research opportunities linked to our working farms and state-of-the-art referral hospitals on our Leahurst Campus and our new veterinary practice located on the main campus in the vibrant city of Liverpool. There’s opportunities to collaborate with Chester Zoo, or engage with global initiatives through our partnerships with the Liverpool-Malawi Wellcome Trust facility in Malawi and the International Livestock Research Institute in Kenya.
Our multidisciplinary staff, including clinically qualified veterinary researchers, epidemiologists, social scientists and basic scientists, work together to prevent disease and improve the health and welfare of farmed, companion and working animals as well as wildlife.
