The academic staff at Reading School of Pharmacy conduct internationally competitive research across a range of research subjects, and these are the areas in which you can conduct your PhD: Applied Health Research, Pharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Physiology and Pharmacology, and Pharmacy Practice.
We offer flexible modes of study designed to fit with your needs. Our PhD is available for study on a full-time basis over three years and part-time over four to six years. Both full-time and part-time variants are available for study in Reading, or at a distance for students who live outside the UK.
We offer several routes to a doctoral qualification, so you can find the one that suits you and the topic you wish to study.
Our Department offers both part-time and full-time PhDs, so you can choose a mode of study that suits your circumstances.
Our PhD by Distance programme allows you to benefit from the expertise of a Reading-based supervisor, while conducting your research in a different location.
To be accepted onto a research degree programme, you will need to have obtained a strong merit grade (equivalent to 65% or above on a UK programme for both the coursework and the dissertation) on a master's degree in a relevant field, but applicants with other qualifications may be accepted in certain circumstances.
