York is really really beautiful but it’s a very expensive city and during the cost of living crisis is really difficult to manage your funds effectively. The departments at York are very inclusive and in biology specifically there is always someone to contact if you have any problems. I

Almost if the facilities are newer, some could do with some upgrading. The city is just very very expensive! The housing prices are crazy!

York has a great academic reputation and in my experience I have found their teaching wonderful. It is so nice to be able to live in a such an interesting city too. The campus is spacious and mostly modern, with some great study spaces and facilities e.g. laboratories. The university offer great support, within each individual department but also as a whole. I am aware of many student who decided to study here because of this excellent service. The house/accommodation prices are much higher in York compared to other university cities. I am aware of many students struggling with these prices. Compared to other cities, York has a much smaller social scene, which might be an issue for some. There is also a heavy reliance on walking or not so reliable public transport.

I think york has a great student environment, especially with the styc and stym programme for first years, as well as the college system creates a welcoming environment.

It’s a very green campus, near York which is a beautiful historical city. The accommodation is very good and there are events within it which I like. I also like the course- very well structured. I have no complaints but the distance between different parts of the campus and to the city.
