Your research will be supported by state-of-the-art computational and experimental facilities. We have strong links with industry and excellent employability in a diverse sector of civil engineering. The Degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) is awarded by the University in recognition of the successful completion of a course of supervised research, the results of which show evidence of originality and independent critical judgement and constitute an addition to knowledge.

There are lots of beneficial activities that the students' union holds for students. Especially the SU Eats event, I can always purchase cheap and delicious vegetables and fruits..Read more

Entry requirements

Students need to have minimum academic entry requirements for a Doctorate programme are either: a First class UK Honours degree in a discipline directly relevant to the PhD; an undergraduate degree at 2:1 or above and Masters award at Merit level in a discipline directly relevant to the PhD, or equivalent international qualifications.
