OVERVIEW
The PhD by Professional Practice is designed for candidates who are established professionals and creatives engaged in professional practice in any discipline. Where the candidate has a complete portfolio of publications, the PhD by Professional Practice lasts 2 years full time or 4 years part time.
COURSE STRUCTURE
This course is research based. You will independently conduct research into your own topic or a topic that we advertise. Your supervisory team will offer expert guidance throughout your studies and review work in progress.
Each year, you will follow a programme of training and development to enhance your research methods, subject-matter expertise and professional skills.
RESEARCH CULTURE
We undertake innovative and applied research that aims to make sense of the key challenges facing contemporary business and society. Our research is collaborative and action-oriented: we work with businesses, communities and policy makers in order to shape and understand local, national and international economies.
