The Centre for Sustainability and Responsible Management produces high quality research outputs that are beneficial for a wide range of stakeholders, including local and central governments, businesses and charitable organisations. In addition to publishing papers in internationally renowned academic journals, members of the centre have written blogs, reports and articles for professional bodies.
They have recently attracted research funding from the Big Voucher Scheme, British Academy of Management, Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, Economic and Social Research Council, Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, Leverhulme Trust, Newton Fund, Office for Manpower Economics and the Science and Technology Facility Council.
The Centre adopts an interdisciplinary approach to focus on research and knowledge exchange in relation to issues in sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility. It employs a responsible management approach given its increased importance academically and in wider society especially as a consequence of threats posed by climate change and Covid-19. It builds on existing research strengths in sustainability and responsible management. Research expertise within the centre includes sustainable and ethical finance, integrated reporting, ethical consumerism, the green economy, sustainable tourism, the circular economy and workplace diversity and equality.
To enter the PhD programme you are expected to hold a master's degree in a relevant subject area or in some cases, be able to provide evidence of equivalent experience and learning acquired in a professional context.
