University of Reading provides access to clinical experience in diverse healthcare settings, and mentorship from leading experts in the field. It emphasizes hands-on learning through internships and practical training, preparing students for real-world pharmacy practice. To improve, the university could enhance partnerships with pharmaceutical companies and healthcare organizations to provide students with more opportunities for industry exposure and networking. Additionally, integrating emerging technologies and interdisciplinary coursework could better prepare students for the evolving landscape of pharmacy practice. Expanding resources for career development and post-graduation support could also benefit pharmacy students as they transition into their professional roles.

The facilities for the science department are really big or modern. The campus is green and has many museums worth visiting. However, some older buildings are not as modern as the others and seem quite empty.

STaR Mentor experience: In the Autumn term 2023, being a STaR Mentor meant that I was supporting new students with their start at university. All mentors attended training and learnt about good practice mentoring. I received up to 25 mentees who I supported & mentored in their first term at the University of Reading. I gained skills in communication, leadership and mentoring whilst also giving back to the UoR community. I worked hard at my mentoring role helping new students feel more confident and informed during their start at university.

The best aspect could be the academic staff and the overall teaching method at UoR The least pleasant aspect could be the financial supports.

It’s a great place to study because there are lots of opportunities within my course and extracurricular activities to help further my career and future. It could be improved through a better student support with studies and providing more resources for exam revision and coursework.
