Course Summary
This is a design based career conversion/ development course, for anyone who has a passion for Landscape Architecture, but a first degree in any other subject. It is fully accredited by the Landscape Institute; A ‘conversion’ programme is an entry requirement for the Masters in Professional Landscape Architecture, unless you already have an undergraduate degree in Landscape Architecture/ Landscape Design. If you know you want to continue to the Masters degree, and don’t have a first degree in the subject, you may also consider applying for the Masters in Professional Landscape Architecture (with Conversion)
We will seek to enhance your existing skills and knowledge, including developing
• your drawing, modelling and computer based representation skills,
• your understanding of construction and planting design, and
• theoretical and professional foundations of Landscape Architecture.
We want to give you the skills to explore your interests and find your direction within the wide scope of Landscape Architectural practice.
Based at our Docklands campus, you will benefit from and contribute to the exciting cultural life of the capital using London sites for your investigation and research.
Your Future Career
The integration of landscape design with architectural and urban design practice is of ever- increasing importance. Landscape Architects are more and more in demand professionally, nationally and internationally. There is a high industry employment rate. Most accredited programmes graduates find jobs on leaving education. 85% of landscape architects are working in full-time roles (Landscape Institute 2016). Students at the University of East London have a strong track record in gaining employment – and a reputation for being talented designers who show skill and sensitivity. Our Post Graduate Diploma will set you on the path to a rewarding and exciting career in Landscape Architecture.
