Forensic odontology deals with the examination, handling, and presentation of dental evidence for the legal system.
Youll develop your knowledge, experience and skills in forensic odontology and the legal and ethical aspects of dentistry.
This part-time course is taught online, with two weeks face to face teaching taking place each year on campus in Dundee.
You will study 5 core modules covering a range of topics including:
Youll learn the basic underlying scientific principles of forensic odontology, build the knowledge and skills that experts need to act as an expert witness, and develop and assess practical skills in Forensic case work.
Your time on campus in Dundee will give you the opportunity to undertake practical learning exercises including contact with cadavers, and small group discussions.

Prospective applicants must hold a recognised dental degree (BDS or equivalent). At least 2 years post-qualification dental experience is desirable – this is not a strict requirement but those with experience will be considered ahead of newly-qualified.
