Colleges play a vital role in preparing both the current and future workforce to respond effectively to the evolving needs of industry and the national economy. In 2022/23, Scotland’s colleges provided education to 248,907 students across 329,920 courses (Audit Scotland, 2024). At the heart of the college system are Further Education (FE) lecturers. Our PGCert in Tertiary Education is for lecturers and teaching staff currently working in further education colleges or similar learning environments. The course enables you build on your existing experience while gaining a professionally recognised teaching qualification in Further Education (TQFE). The course is currently open only to applicants domiciled in the UK. Study a professionally accredited qualification Our PGCert Tertiary Education with Teaching Qualification (Further Education) is accredited by the General Teaching Council for Scotland (GTCS). This means it’s a recognised teaching qualification. The course is also based on the Professional Standards for Lecturers in Scotland’s Colleges (2018).
