The Postgraduate Certificate (PGCert) in Football Coaching and Analysis is a specialised qualification designed to enable students to delve into various aspects of football coaching, including the analysis of football coaching and coaching philosophies.
Integrating theory with practice alongside the development of reflective skills, you will draw upon previous skills and knowledge as a practicing coach to critically evaluate the core competencies needed, which can be directly applied to your role in order to become a more effective coach.
This course is delivered in a Distance (with attendance) format, where learning will predominantly occur through online content, allowing students to work through materials independently via the online learning platform. This theoretical and online learning is underpinned with on-campus block delivery. Where online study is brought to life by academic practitioners through practical on the pitch and classroom-based sessions.
Students wishing to top up to complete full MSc will complete an additional 120 credits, over a further year of study. The tuition fees will be equivalent to the final 2/3 of the overall course cost of £7,966.67.
Degree content
This course provides comprehensive knowledge and practical skills and provides a great foundation for further study options. Students on this course have access to world-leading performance analysis tools from Hudl, the industry-standard software used by athletes, coaches and clubs across the globe.
Successful completion of the course will give you 60-masters level credits which can be used to progress onto the MSc Football Coaching and Analysis degree. Students wishing to progress onto the MSc Football Coaching and Analysis degree upon successful completion of the course will also be required to have achieved a minimum C Licence (FA Level 2) or equivalent relevant level 2 qualification. Applicants without the level 2 qualification may also be assessed for entry upon review of the full academic profile at the end of the qualification and must be on track to achieve a minimum of a merit grade.
Applicants must have achieved an undergraduate degree 2:2 and above (in a relevant subject) or have extensive coaching experience in addition to a coaching qualification (Minimum UEFA B Licence).
