Train to be a primary school teacher at Roehampton, with its uniquely long heritage in teacher training and its commitment to Froebelian principles of education. You will undergo 20 weeks school placement with excellent mentoring. Build your confidence as a teacher, ready for your first job. Being able to educate and inspire future generations, seeing young children grow and develop with your help is unlike any other job. This one-year programme will build your confidence in the classroom and will develop your subject knowledge for teaching all primary curriculum subjects.
You will need to be able to provide certificated evidence of an undergraduate honours degree or an approved equivalent qualification, preferably 2:2 or above and awarded in the UK. It is a requirement that all those training to teach must have achieved a grade 4 (C) or above in mathematics, English Language and a science subject (or approved equivalents). Please note that we will only consider you if you have already achieved one out of the three GCSEs (or approved equivalents) prior to submitting your application. Roehampton does not offer GCSE equivalency tests. We accept the equivalency tests in science (the single Science Biology and the combined), mathematics and English offered by Equivalency Testing or by A Star Equivalency.
