Entry requirements

You must have a strong academic record at A level (or equivalent) in relevant subjects, along with a solid undergraduate degree—usually at least a 2:2—relevant to the subject you wish to teach; in all cases, the relevance of your degree, other qualifications, and related experiences will be assessed to determine your academic suitability. You must also hold GCSEs (or equivalent qualifications) in Mathematics and English at Grade 4/C or above—these will be a condition of your offer if not already achieved, and equivalency testing is accepted only from approved providers. Additionally, before commencing the programme, you must complete an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, undergo health and physical capacity checks to ensure you are fit to teach, and agree to abide by the University of Birminghams Code of Professional Conduct and Fitness to Practise.
