The PgCert Clinical Education is specifically tailored to focus on supporting and developing knowledge and understanding within the complexities of clinical education and supervision, innovation and educational developments and leadership.

About this course

PgCert Clinical Education provides the essential knowledge, skills and tools to enhance your professional development within this area of practice.

The PgCert Clinical Education comprises three 20-credit modules that enable you to develop knowledge, skills and understanding within education and leadership settings. You will study part-time over six months.

The course aims to develop the underpinning principles, latest innovations and approaches to the concepts and challenges of healthcare and clinical education and leadership. It will help you use critical analysis to analyse current thinking in leadership, the impact of the changing multi-professional workforce and approaches to collaborative working.

Our applied learning techniques and strong industry connections ensure our students are fully prepared for the workplace on graduation and understand how to apply their knowledge in a real world context.

The knowledge, skills and clinical understanding provided within this course will support development of both nursing and Allied health professionals who may already work within or are interested in working within clinical education environments. This continued professional development programme is designed to support further development of health professionals who may wish to specialise or gain further development within these areas of practice.

Entry requirements

BA/BSc (Hons) in relevant field at 2:2 or above, or evidence of potential to study at Masters Level. Applicants must be able to facilitate the achievement of the assessment of competency required with an appropriately qualified supervisor and within an appropriate clinical setting.
