One of the best aspects of studying at University College Birmingham is the strong emphasis on practical, career-focused learning. Lecturers often come from industry backgrounds, so the teaching feels directly connected to real jobs and real standards. Small class sizes also mean you get individual attention, and staff genuinely want you to succeed. The facilities—especially for hospitality, culinary, business, and tourism courses—are modern and industry-standard, which makes the learning experience feel hands-on and relevant. UCB has a very supportive environment, and the sense of community is something I really valued. The biggest challenge at UCB is that, although the university is expanding, it can still feel quite small compared to larger universities. This sometimes means fewer social events, fewer society choices, and a campus life that isn’t as lively as people might expect from a city-centre university. Communication between departments can occasionally be slow, and administrative processes (like timetables or placement arrangements) can feel a bit disorganized at times. For some students, the practical focus is great—but others may feel they want more academic or research-based options.

It was easy to get in the teachers are supportive and the improvement it can be done is more to get experienced worker from our field to tell us about thre experience and the background of that particular field

Best part - location, module and serenity Worst part - not enough social activities to unite students for socialization

It’s very good university to study with and professors are more cooperative. I think they should just start the research programs for the masters degree candidates or all of them. This will help them to grow and upskill there knowledge, then it will be more shining among all the universities
