About the British College of Osteopathic Medicine (BCOM) and European School of Osteopathy (ESO) - part of the BCNO Group

The British College of Osteopathic Medicine and European School of Osteopathy are part of the BCNO Group, partnered with the University of Plymouth. They have an international reputation for academic and research excellence in Osteopathy. Known for the support we provide to students and the quality of our teaching, BCOM and ESO students receive a solid understanding of human anatomy and physiology, as well as developing osteopathic techniques. This four year full-time degree provides students with 1000 hours of clinical experience whilst also developing key business skills and research experience, enabling our graduates to work in established clinics or to build their own practice or to work for the NHS. BCOM and ESO graduates have pursued successful careers working with athletes, corporate consultancy, university-level teaching, work with animals and medical research.BCOM and ESO are noted for their warm and friendly atmosphere. The supportive atmosphere between students and staff is exceptional, providing a close-knit support network for all. BCOM and ESO are the perfect place to train to be an Osteopath, with their on-site teaching clinics and fantastic locations. BCOM is close to the vibrant Camden Town as well as Regents Park and Wembley Stadium. Our campus is directly opposite Finchley Road tube station and only a 7-minute tube ride to Bond Street station, a popular shopping district. ESO campus is situated in Maidstone, the county town of Kent, and just an hour from London by train. Beautiful countryside and miles of coastline are on the doorstep and ESO is located just around the corner from the buzzing town centre.


About The Course

The Master of Osteopathy (M.Ost) is a four-year full-time degree programme, delivered at our BCOM (London) campus. Its purpose is to educate individuals to become safe, competent osteopathic practitioners. On successful completion of the four year full-time course, graduates are eligible to register with the General Osteopathic Council and launch straight into a career as a practising Osteopath. The Master of Osteopathy degree is validated by the University of Plymouth.The curriculum involves problem-based learning, case-based scenarios and research over four years. Modules studied include anatomy, physiology, clinical methods, musculo-skeletal diagnosis, nutrition, clinical practice, psychology, paediatrics, business skills, leadership, research methods, osteopathic sports care (elective), women's health (elective), pain management (elective), care of the older adult (elective). Students will attend the teaching clinic located at BCOM, alongside practical skills classes, lectures and tutorials. Students spend 1000 hours in the teaching clinic, equipping them with the skills needed to be an excellent practitioner. Students will develop key business skills and research experience, enabling them to work in established clinics or to build their own practice after graduating.

Applicants should hold a minimum of 3 GCE A-levels, normally including Biology. Preferably second Science subjects include: Mathematics, Chemistry, Physical Education, Psychology, Physics or Sports Science.

We will consider a wide range of qualifications. Applications from mature and international students with equivalent qualifications are welcome.

We will consider other BTEC qualifications, with relevant science and health related subjects, in conjunction with A-level or equivalent qualifications. Please contact our Admissions Team for further assistance.
