The British College of Osteopathic Medicine (BCOM) , partnered with the University of Plymouth, is internationally renowned for its uniquely holistic approach to osteopathic education and patient care. BCOM is the perfect place to train to be an Osteopath, with its on-site teaching clinic and its fantastic location in London, opposite Finchley Road tube station.At BCOM, you will find yourself at home in one of the most colourful and exciting cities in the world. Our spacious London campus is in North West London (NW3) with excellent transport links, making it easy for our students to experience all that London has to offer. We are close to the vibrant Camden Town as well as Regents Park and Wembley Stadium. Our campus is directly opposite Finchley Road tube station and only a 7-minute tube ride to Bond Street station, a popular shopping district. It is also near Finchley Road & Frognal rail station.


About the Course

The BSc (Hons) Osteopathy is a four year full-time modified attendance degree combining online learning and face to face teaching for those students who want to combine studying with working or managing family life. This modified attendance course will run two evenings a week and one Saturday a month, with additional hours needed for clinical hours, optional tutorials and self-directed study. Upon successful completion of this University of Plymouth validated degree, graduates can register with the General Osteopathic Council (GOsC) and launch straight into a career as a practising Osteopath.The curriculum involves problem-based learning, case-based scenarios and research over four years. Students will attend the teaching clinic located at BCOM, alongside practical skills classes, lectures and tutorials. Students spend 1000 hours in the teaching clinic, equipping them with the skills needed to be an excellent practitioner. Students will develop key business skills and research experience, enabling them to work in established clinics or to build their own practices after graduating. BCOM graduates have pursued successful careers working with athletes, corporate consultancy, university-level teaching, working with animals and medical research.


Assessment

The assessments are designed to be stimulating and challenging, stretching the students' knowledge and practical skills. Assessments include essays, presentations, group work, reflective accounts, ISCE (integrated standard clinical exam), and clinical assessments either as individual students or group work.
